U-haul sucks!!
Well we reserved a 26' truck and were informed they do not a truck this large available to us Saturday to Sunday. So, now we are going to have to pick a 17' with a trailer attachment. Here's the kicker we have to pick up the Uhaul in Livermore and we live in Castro Valley. So, my Northern CA, bay area friends understand the distance it's between. However, for my out of town friends it's MapQuest distance is 26.3 miles.
Sucks huh!!! The gave us an extra 50 miles allowance, however I am still mad!!

Update
We did not get the keys in time for our wedding anniversary. There was a couple issues with the square footage on Tuesday and they could not do the loan documents. Apparently, the house is smaller by a couple square feet and the lending company could not complete the forms? Yesterday (Wed 8/27/08) we did the final walk-through and signed all the loan and title documents. The Escrow Officer informed us we would fund today (Thurs) and record in the local county late today (Thurs) or early tomorrow (Fri).
Well, guess what!!! We couldn't fund the loan today (Thurs) because the title co. collected the incorrect closing costs. At 3 pm..when we thought the process was just moving along, we were informed we weren't funded because of the Title Co. error. We had to run to the bank and Title co. before 5 pm today (Thurs).
Today I was informed by the Escrow Officer we will fund tomorrow (Fri)AM and record tomorrow (Fri)PM. Since it is a new house we can fund and record on the same day (according to the Escrow Officer). We have not been to happy about the ordeal lately and feel like we have been run through the ringer. However, this is part of the game, I surpose...
We are extremely tired from resting all day then running at 3 pm to the bank to get another cashier check and driving through traffic to Pleasanton, CA with the check.

We sign title papers on Tuesday and if everything goes right we will have the keys on Thursday 8/28 or Friday 8/29. Just in time for it to be a big anniversary gift for me and my husband. Our wedding anniversary is on Thursday!!! We are so excited. Check out the pictures for the look.

We've been told
We are not going up to the house this weekend. Lynn has been ill and Mark had to work this weekend. Rumor has it we are doing a pre carpet walk-thru some time this week so we will not be going up before.
Peter took a couple pictures for us, however they are not viewable when I put them on the site. He took them from a camera phone. I will try to put them up but not sure of the quality and remove them if they're terrible. Appears the front has been landscaped and the stairs are all stained based on his pictures.

We couldn't stay away from the house. Of course, big updates! The house is Gray, the light fixtures are up on the outside..all the fine detail is being done. Inside the house the cabinets have been installed, the house is painted white, stair banisters went up. The light switch covers are on and lights have been put in. Lots of fine details done. Also, a big change is the garage doors are up...
It's getting close and we are so excited. I can't wait to spend my first night there and all the future nights of my life. Just so fun to see it all get done so quickly....
